WE ARE THE NEW BREW •
On one fateful day in September 2022, The New Brew came to life when seven musicians joined forces. They aimed to create music with two simple yet daunting goals:
make it fresh, and make you dance!
Based out of Hartford, CT, The New Brew came together at the Hartt School of Music. With such talent and drive, they hope to become influential in the music scene and for their melodies to find their ways into everyone's life. They each have a unique musical background that synergizes into a new sound, something with a nice body and lovely flavor notes that you can enjoy every single day.
Sam Jacobs
Sam Jacobs is the lead vocalist and co-founder of this band of goons. Besides also being the guy behind the computer making magic happen, Sam is also the primary composer and lyricist for many of our songs. He’s also just an all around amazing guy. He’s a local hero, an animal lover, a master of all things breakfast, and you can damn well trust him on that, he’s the one writing this!
Cliff Robbins-Sennewald
Cliff Robbins-Sennewald is a board-certified cutie and a fella who can play some mean guitar. Not only is he our co-founder and our guitarist, but he’s also an amazing engineer and a lovely writer. I love Cliff! We love Cliff! You love Cliff. You’ve always loved Cliff, as long as you’ve lived. You just hadn’t realized it yet.
Nino Ciampa
N-I-N-O! Everyone knows him. He slaps the bass, he makes a face, and he runs this whole fucking place. El salsero principal, he can find the clave to any song. Any. Song. Try him. It’s actually frustrating sometimes. He’s also the guy behind some of our music. He’s a huge component to our composition, and he writes a horn part like it’s a dissertation. Watch out.
Mae Czuba
Mae. Mothafuckin’. Czuba. She’s the goddess who blows that horn so smackingly that you’ll be on your knees after hearing her. She never misses on an outfit, obviously, and she always has something funny to say locked and loaded. And damn, give her some changes and she’ll play em. She also writes her own tunes, or “works of art” as I like to call them. Check her out!
Michael Spanedda
Michael Spanedda is a silly little guy who just loves smacking things together. And when I say smacking things together, I MEAN IT! Boy, do those sticks make gorgeous sounds when they’re in Michael’s hands. He’s a musical theatre buff, but like in a cool way. I promise, he’s normal about it. Seriously, he’s played in many a pit band, and he shows no signs of stopping. Hope you brought ear protection.
